We’re thrilled to see Black Swan Data featured in Business of Fashion’s latest article: The 5 Biggest Wellness Themes of 2025.  

The article explores the buzziest health and wellness trends that are predicted to sustain across the year.  

This includes:

Our very own Danika Gloege (Insights Director) was interviewed and contributed to the report.  

Danika shared insights on the impact of Ozempic and other GLP-1s on consumer behavior and the rise of functional healing in fragrances.  

The ‘semaglutide’ trend has exploded in our food and beverage datasets since their arrival.  

Conversation around this trend increased by 34% in our USA Meals dataset, and 25% in our USA Beverages dataset. 

In the article, Danika explains that Ozempic is “transforming eating habits, driving a shift toward nutrient-dense, smaller portions”.  

She also notes the rising demand for multivitamins, protein bars and bone broth amongst GLP-1 users. 

As well as nutrient-rich plant proteins derived from fungi and algae species, as seen in Erewhon’s spirulina-dusted popcorn.

On fragrances, Danika explained that ‘functional healing’ is the top growth trend in Black Swan’s USA Fragrances dataset.  

Our data predicts that consumers will increasingly seek fragrances that deliver tangible wellness benefits – such as better sleep - alongside attractive scents.  

The ‘better sleep quality’ trend has grown by 88% over the last two years.  

Consumers are also exploring DIY guides to create custom essential oil blends tailored to their unique wellness goals.  

Danika explained that this movement towards DIY solutions underscores the demand for bespoke experiences that transform daily routines into opportunities for holistic healing.
