A message from Black Swan Data

We want to let you know about a scam that has recently been reported to us.
Scammers purporting to be from Black Swan Data, are contacting people via SMS and WhatsApp with offers of employment. The scammers are offering the recipient the opportunity to earn a salary from Black Swan Data by “optimising” apps.  The recipient is then asked to provide their personal information.   To make it seem legitimate, they have been using our logo, imagery, and colours in their messages and forms.

What Black Swan Data would never do:
  • We will never contact you via WhatsApp, SMS, email etc., to offer you unsolicited employment opportunities.
  • We will never ask you to transfer money into, or use, cryptocurrency or cryptocurrency exchanges.
  • We do not employ people to rate or “optimise” apps.

What is Black Swan Data doing to stop this?

The scammers are based internationally and are hard to identify, making it difficult to stop. However, we are contacting the relevant authorities and are attempting to have the sites taken down. However, this can take some time.

We ask that you please:


Report and block these scammers via the platform that the scammers contacted you on (e.g. WhatsApp)

Report these scammers to your local government or law enforcement agencies that handle reports of fraud and scams

In the meantime, please always double-check who’s messaging you and stay alert!
